The Incredible Life of Mr Nicholas Bredimus

Posted in House Of The Social Web by admin on the February 5th, 2010

A major improvement in hospitality and air travel was kicked off by Nicholas Bredimus, who linked them to the computer industry to produce new procedures. He has been in the thick of a wide variety of initiatives, from creating computer programs that automate resource and time intensive processes to increasing air safety and designing high-value houses. Not only that but, in all cases, his emotional drive is clear.

Anyone could have anticipated, though, that with his family tree he was sure to rise to prominence. His kindred traces its roots as long ago as the days of Rome’s glory and can boast of a broad background. His maternal family originates from Scotland and Germany. The paternal line, by contrast, originates in England and Luxembourg, which is where they migrated from toward the end of the 19th century.

That passionate spirit continued on arrival in the United States of America. Growing up one of seven siblings, Nicholas had a father employed as a mechanical design engineer and a mother who earned her living as a practicing nurse. He would live much of his life in townships across four states.

Once his schooling was complete, he would sign up for some very high powered posts for several of the strongest and most reputable businesses in the airline industry. Among these was included the position of vice president for Hughes Airwest, Republic Airlines, and Trans World Airlines (TWA). A hard-working software designer, his creative work with airline software is probably his greatest legacy. He is highly respected for a project for US Airways, namely his airplane maintenance computer programs which can now be found being used by most air services. He programmed several other computerized solutions for the hotel and airline industries as well, among them completely automatic systems for handling airline bookings, used by fifty or more airlines, to say nothing of his innovative client based room booking system for the hotel sector, the rollout for which took place at over 700 hotels. And next would come QuikTix, an automated, networked approach to ticket ordering which was an industry first. He has even served in a number of capacities entirely outside of software design, let’s remember. Key posts with American Airlines and American Express were to come, and in the biggest move of all he set up his own business seventeen years ago.

As of now, however, Mr Bredimus has stepped back from Northwest Airlines and from coding, although he’s still making use of his abilities. Presently, you can look for his work in luxury class condos employing all of the newest smart technologies to be found anywhere. The tireless energy we have investigated here won’t end.

Music and Emotions on Teenagers

Posted in Hall Of Stats, House Of The Social Web by admin on the December 2nd, 2009

Good music has direct access to the emotions. As such it’s a fantastic tool for tweaking our moods. Saarikallio and Erkkila (2007) investigated the ways people use music to control and improve their mood by interviewing eight adolescents from Finland. The participants may be a small, very specific group, but they actually present a really useful list:

  1. Entertainment - At the most fundamental level music provides stimulation. It lifts the mood before going out, it passes the time while doing the washing up, it accompanies travelling, reading and surfing the web.
  2. Revival - Music revitalises in the morning and calms in the evening.
  3. Strong sensation - Music can provide deep, thrilling emotional experiences, particularly while performing.
  4. Diversion - Music distracts the mind from unpleasant thoughts which can easily fill the silence.
  5. Discharge - Music matching deep moods can release emotions: purging and cleansing.
  6. Mental work - Music encourages daydreaming, sliding into old memories, exploring the past.
  7. Solace - Shared emotion, shared experience, a connection to someone lost.

Isn’t true? There are loads of songs or waiting room music that remind me of ex’s, some of which make me sad, some sometimes make me smile. Loads of songs that remind me of the period where i listened to that song a lot (e.g killing me softly by fugees reminds me of hanging out with my friends from school one summer and playing that song in my back yard while we had a bbq)
Some genres can change my mood as well, like if im a bit pissed off, listening to DnB will set me off more, but if i was to listen to folk or something chilled out i would probably calm down a lot faster.

Take an Instructive Look at the Outstanding Entrepreneur Naveen Jain: Practical Altruism at Its Foremost

Posted in Better Business, House Of The Social Web by admin on the August 5th, 2009

Very many notable entrepreneurs are zealously embracing philanthropical work these days. You will very probably have come across Mr. Naveen Jain’s name as being the CEO & co-founder of Intelius, Inc. the market leaders in background checks and public records services. In addition to having made the Forbes 400 Richest in America list 2000, this enterprising entrepreneur has won various choice awards, most notably the WSA Industry Achievement Award, the Albert Einstein Technology Medal, and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. But that is positively not the end of the story. That’s because Jain and his kin are every bit as enthusiastic about their beneficent endeavors and will strive to help out wherever possible. Today’s young generation genuinely are our planet’s most precious resource. Naveen Jain also sees young people as the deserving center of his enterprises and he takes every chance available to support them. This, of course, is why he is always diligently using every possibility he can to offer help whenever even remotely possible. Therefore, Naveen Jain, his relations and the staff at Intelius give their time and efforts to an impressive number of charitable agencies as, for example, the University Preparatory Academy, the Rotary Club, and the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club. Naturally, they provide ample monetary aid, but most importantly they dedicate their time and effort to the most needy and danger prone children. Furthermore, he donates to the Children’s Hospital striving to elevate the state of children’s health. With Naveen Jain being an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur and the Indian Institute of Technology, it comes as no wonder that schooling has been assigned an extremely important preference in his humanitarian outlook. This incorporates campaigns and deserving causes that are local, state, and nationwide. Thus it only stands to reason that Intelius and its CEO are actively helping deserving causes and foundations such as TreeHouse, the Children’s Hospital and the Overlake Service League.

Getting food to the malnourished of the planet is another crucial objective for Naveen Jain and those around him and to him, it makes not one speck of difference. Although Naveen is aware that the project of finding food for all the world’s famished is an eminently superhuman one, he is also cognizant that the impossible can really be realizable provided that everyone applies themselves towards a common end. If this entrepreneur really achieves his goals, there will be a definite end to destitution and malnourishment on this planet in the future. One might believe that as the man in full control of a highly prosperous market leading company on top of being a devoted husband and parent would afford him no spare scope for charity and aiding others. However, he makes certain that all of his charitable undertakings obtains as much assistance as he can possibly ramp up. In summary, this visionary man is certainly a lot more than an obsessed leader of industry. He is actually an exceptional citizen and a genuine community patron.

PHPBB2: Selecting the Correct Update

Posted in House Of The Social Web by admin on the March 22nd, 2008

In my previous articles about PHPBB2 I shared with readers my experience in shifting over to this type of software and I also listed some of my favorite mods and styles. If you already have downloaded PHPBB2 and are running it on your computer you have a great piece of open source software at your finger tips. As with any program you must keep it up to date. Let’s take a look at some important things to consider in keeping your program current.

First of all, the best thing you can do is to subscribe to the opt-in mailing list for notification of any updates. You must subscribe as no one will automatically tell you your site is out of date although your administration panel will give that information to you. To opt-in please visit www.phpbb.com to subscribe.

Next, when updates are announced you must select between two methods: a “changed files only” update or a “patch” update. If you haven’t made any extra special modifications to your program than the first choice is what you want. Simply download the information to your desktop, unzip the files, and follow the installation instructions on how to update your board. If you have added on some modifications than a “patch” update is for you. If you select the former method you will delete all of your modifications. Thus, only a patch update is what you want in order to keep your modifications in place.

So, that’s it. Make sure you receive notifications of changes as they occur and select the right update for your board. When an update is announced, plan on installing sooner rather than later as many updates include important security improvements that can help to close holes in the program.
