When Did You Last Inspect Your ISA Investments?

Posted in Better Business, Finance by admin on the December 25th, 2009

With the financial turmoil earlier in the year and the threat of continued global recession still causing issues for investors, it might not seem to be the best time to review your ISA Savings and investments.

However, in some respects this could be the ideal opportunity to carry out a review. Time has recorded that most investors buy investments at the peak of the market and tend to sell at the bottom. In reality, investors should be buying at the bottom and hopefully trading at the top of a market. It is true, though the stock market has recovered considerably since 03/09 however, it could be argued that investors should now be deliberating the investment opportunities that are available to them.

If you have a number of Individual Savings Account investments with several investment providers it could be worth reviewing your investment holdings to ensure that your existing investments fit your attitude towards saving. You might also check to make sure the actual investment funds are doing well when compared to their peers.

Investors can sometimes find that if their investment portfolios have not been examined for a long time, the level of risk they might be taking on might not reflect the actual risk, they would be happy to accept.

If you want to find out more about the up-to-date ISA investments, rules and limits, please see the ISA part of our website. Investors might also consider taking a peek at our investment philosphy brochure and how to interpret their atitude to investment risk.
